I just watched the movie as it is available since today. I didn't hade the opportunity to attend it on the cinema. Anyway, I'll start by saying that I was crying before it even start and I'm still crying after the end of it. I don't even know how I feel right now, it is something completely new. This story hit me so hard, it literally left me speechless. Ansel Elgort turned into Augustus Waters and Shailene Woodley became Hazel Graze and every single actor/actress done their job perfectly. I love this movie because you laugh so hard at some scenes and at the same moment you cry like never before. It is something unique what John Green achived though this story, he got me with mixed feelings and I feel blessed for being able to both read the book and watch the movie.
When a movie is based on a book, people used to compare them and say which of the both was better. In this case, I can't say a thing like that, as the movie was as good as the book and that's something that happens rarely. I'm sure John is proud because, everyone who worked for this movie gave their whole talent and passion to make it a special one.
I've been thinking a lot during the movie and after its ending :

I've been thinking a lot during the movie and after its ending :
- I need and Augustus Waters. This man is pure perfection and all he's doing is loving his girlfriend! I wish every girl to find a guy like him because you all worth it girls!
- I have to point Gus's and Isaak's friendship. They cared about each other and they had a strong relationship!
- John appeared on the movie?! My mind blown when I saw him !!! He's perfect!
- Shailene has wonderful eyes!
- My favorite scene was when Hazel and Gus kissed in the Anne Frank-museum.

The book was incredible!!! Definitely one of my favorite books!!! I was actually a little worried about the movie, like everyone who had read the book I imagine, but like you said they did a perfect job! It was very faithful to the book but at the same time whether you've read the book or not you'll like the movie!
ReplyDeleteI also have to say something that you've missed: I think John Green is an amazing author because he wanted to prove a point with this book, the point being that just because someone has a disability they're not different than the rest of us. They still make friends, have fun, fall in love and their life doesn't revolve around the disease. He also wanted to show that even though the charactes were going through a really lame situation they didn't let that stop them from being happy even for a little while. The story begins showing us that Hazel has totally given up on life and throught out the book and with the help of Augustus she learns that she should appreciate the little things and not let the disease take over her life. The scene you said was your favorite is the moment where Hazel decides to let go and live and "be happy" like Anne Frank said right before the kiss. So John Green gives us that "lesson" I guess in a brilliant way, through a brilliant story, with love, smart humor, heartbreak and all the things that all humans can relate to one way or another.
I didn't mean for this comment to be this big so sorry for that but I really felt like this was missing from your post. So in conclusion John is awesome! <3
thanks for adding this comment because it's a basic point I should have mentioned! I think I couldn't say it in a better way, actually! In deed, John is one of the greatests authors and he gives so many lessons though his stories, making every single one of us take them in a different way.
