SUNDAY'S TRIBUTE : JESSIE-J

So, today's tribute is really special and it's about the one and only J-J-J-J Jessie-J! I think she has one of the most incredible voices of our century! For me, she's at the top 5 of my favorite female singers! I still remember when I first listened to her on a music tv channel, where it was shown the "Nobody's perfect" video clip in 2011. I was so impressed by the rhythm and lyrics and I go ahead to my PC and downloaded it! I usually need to listen to a song 3-4 times, so as to assume if I like it or not, but that doesn't happened with this one, cause I loved it immediately! Jessie-J is the reason I started working on my desire to be a singer. I've been singing "Nobody's perfect" every day for hours, something that I used not to do. This song made me believe that music is what I love and I realized that this is the job I want! Then, I starting listening to more of her songs : Price tag, Do it like a dude, Laserlight, Who's laughing now, Domino.

She has released three albums:

  • Who you are
  • Alive
  • Sweet talker (recently released)
She's been touring since 2008, as an opening act for "Girls Aloud" and had her own tour at 2011. She has worked with many artists, some of them are: Big Sean, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaz, B.O.B., Dizzee Rascal etc.

#Funfacts of me as a fan of Jessie-J:
  • I used to create scenarios in my head, where me and Jessie were performing together
  • My favorite song is "Nobody's Perfect" (obviously)
  • My favorite collaboration is "Bang Bang" with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaz
Something special that made me love her even more was, when she shaved her hair in 2013 for Comic Relief and she raised £500.000. Another reason that I love her is the life-lesson she has "taught" me: to never give up on my dreams and don't care what others think of me.

Are you a fan of her music and voice? Let me know in the comments and I hope you like it!

INTERNET FRIENDS

"Internet friends" is a phenomenon observed nowadays and it's about people with whom we become friends through social media. Teenagers are more likely to have this type of friends, as they spend most of their time online. It all starts when you're on twitter or facebook and somehow you "meet" people who have the same interests with you, so you talk to them, usually thinking "omg you feel me" and, for me, it's magical.
Internet-friendships are often stronger that real ones. As far as I'm concerned, since last year no one I've been meeting in real life had the same interests with me, so I was feeling a little bit strange, as I wasn't in a group where I belonged. So, one of the reasons that these relationships are strong is that they are based on similar interests, for example music, tv, celebrities etc. Also, most of the times, especially on twitter, you start talking to someone without even knowing how they look, but you only know a name. This indicates that appearance does not matter when making friends and the only thing we consider is to find someone who can understand our feelings and the way we think. With the term "internet friend" I refer to a person who I made through social media and I can rely on him/her for whatever I want. We talk about our happiness, fears, sad moments, secrets, dreams, everything that puzzles us, we share opinions and advice, we have deep conversasions.
Maybe the only disadvantage of internet friends is distance. Oh, this fucking distance that keeps us away from going out at the cinema or for a coffee and tea and ice-cream, we can't have sleepovers at each others' houses or movie-nights. It is so sad when you think that there's one person you die to talk to, but you can't be together every day and go to their house when you wanna escape. You know that only their voice and their hug will make you feel better, but you can't have that. Ok, I know I can call them whenever I want, but it's not the same with meeting him/her.

I made my first internet friend in stardoll in 2012, her name is Elena. We were talking every day on there and then on Google+ and she knows every side and moment of my life, even the most pointless. Time is limited, so we talk less than before. Sometimes I piss her off, but she's a special friend and her advice had impact on my life. When I joined facebook in 2013, I added a girl who is fan of Ed Sheeran and is from Greece and I was so  surprised that another sheerio lives in here!

the struggle
Her name is Depie and she is the most inpiring person I've ever met, one of the few people who deserve to be called humans. I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to meet her in person this year, as she came in my city for my birthday and we had the time of our lives! We have meaningful convos and our music taste is similar, so what's more perfect than that? As she used to say, our conversations
are the highlight of the day!
I also have friends from other countries: Becky from England and Marija from Serbia. We rarely talk now cause of school, but we love each other and our convos are so delightful. So, internet friends gives you the opportunity to connect with other countries and learn how things are there and, talking to them makes me realize that every teenager has the same way of thinking, no matter where they come from.

A poem for internet friends

SUNDAY'S TRIBUTE : WILL.I.AM

Hey! I'm so glad to write about this incredible man, who I listen to since a very young age! will.I.am is a rapper - singer/songwriter, entrepreneur, voice actor, actor, DJ, record producer and philanthropist.

He is best known as a founding member of the hip hop/pop band The Black Eyed Peas, with whom he has received seven Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, a Teen Choice Award, two MTV Video Music Awards and three World Music Awards.
I started listening to Black Eyed Peas when I was about 8 years old they were my obsession for many years (and they still are)! I remember when I downloaded all of their songs, after I've been watching a tribute for them on TV. will.I.am has such a special voice and I consider him as one of the most succesful artists ever! The collabs he made after the end of his band, are all big hits and every single one is unique.

#FunFacts about me as a fan of will.I.am. :
  • The very first song I listened to was "My hump"
  • My favorite collab of his was "that power" with Justin Bieber
  • My favorite album is "#willpower"
  • For a reason I can't explain, I'm in love with his collabs with "The Script"

One of the reasons that I like him is his fashion style! He is always wearing special and unique clothes and his hairstyle is a particular feature that no one else has! And he knows about fashion as, before joining Black Eyed Peas, he began designing his own signature clothing line. Also, something that I enjoy about him is his dance moves! Especially, after watching the video clip for "that power", I was surprised.

I'm sure everyone knows him and you can't deny that he's super cool and talented and he never gets old and boring! If you don't know him, make sure to check some of his songs, starting from The "Black Eyed Peas"-ones. Lemme know in the comments what do you think about will.I.am.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT SCHOOL

Lately, there is something that makes me overthink and I'm so confused and annoyed. Since last year, I have noticed that there's a kind of people who don't focus on somebody's attitude and virtues, instead they highlight their education and grades at school. They believe that the most essential factor of judging someone's life is if they're good or bad students at school, which I think it's totally wrong.
As I always say, we can't judge someone just because they belong in a specific group/kind of people, as every single one has their own character and habits.
I think that this belief comes from school, as it focuses on subjects and grades and students don't acquire any ethical values. We, students, are under so much pressure and they put us in the position to decide what we want for the rest of our lives and this is -kind of- scaring. They make us believe that we have to assimilate everything we learn at school, if we want to be successful and have a good job when we become adults. But they forget that world needs good humans to evolve. And to be a good human, you have to be happy and proud of yourself, to have someone to boost your self-confidence. We should all realize that life is not permanent but it's the longest thing that will ever happen to us. We have to keep this in mind and try to do what makes us glad, not what others believe is good for us.

To talk about myself, I am a good student at school and one of the greatests in my class and my teachers are always proud of my effort. They also say that I have a brilliant character and attitude towards everyone and that's really special. Well, I am proud of myself, too, but the educational system in my country has reached a level where everything that matters is our grades in high school and it's implying that only the best students deserve the award of a good life as adults. I don't know what they want to achieve with this and I can't say if it's right or wrong, but it makes me understand that I have to work too hard for this. At the age of 15-16 everything changes and teenagers feel like it's the end of their life, and so do I, and stress worsens the situation. Everyone expect us to be good at -literally- everything. They also say thay we should follow our dreams and try our best to be experts in what we like BUT they don't provide us with the required qualifications. For example, I wanna be a singer but we don't even have music lessons at school. How do they expect me to be an expert when they don't help me?
Some of you may conclude that I judge certain kinds of people, even though I just say my opinion on how some individuals think. If you have something to add, leave it on the comments and let me know if you agree with me or not.

p.s. Take my apology, I'm sorry for the honesty, but I had to get this off my chest.

SUNDAY'S TRIBUTE : 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER

Hallo! I'm so in love with this Sunday's tribute cause 5SOS are my new obsession! Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford are the member of this punk-rock band from Australia. How did the start? YouTube! They started by uploading covers of many artists and that's how I found them, cause the have covered some songs of Ed Sheeran. Then, they were invited by the 1D boys to join the "Take Me Home Tour" and lots of girls became fans of them. The realised their debute album "5 Seconds of Summer" in 27 June 2014 and their first single "She looks so perfect" was #1 in 11 countries!

Many of you, consider this band as a boy-band, which is totally wrong! They are a BAND who make music and lyrics, they perform and they play the instruments by themselves. The fact that they're so hot and handsome doesn't mean that they have to be a boy-band. So, try to find out the difference.

5SOS performing "Amnesia" at the MTV VMA 2014

#FUNFACTS about me in the 5SOSFam:

  • The first song written by them that I listened was "Try Hard"
  • I can't pick one favorite song, but currently my fave is "Good Girls"!
  • I can play "Wherever you are", "Amnesia" and "Heartbreak girl" on my guitar!
  • Although I love them all, my weakness is Luke <3
  • I own their album and it's the FIRST EVER album I bought!
  • My room is full of their posters.
  • My favorite music video is "She looks so perfect"

If you're not already a fan and you like rock music, I recommend that you listen to their album cause it's something different and, despite the young of their ages, their music is mature and intelligent! They write so inpiring lyrics and they make me believe that true people with pure heart really exist and that kindness and beauty are hidden features in everyone. And these guys have everything a real boy should have! Also, if you think how young they are and how beautiful music they write, you'll be surprised! Here's their latest music video, I hope you enjoy it!

SUNDAY'S TRIBUTE : NINA NESBITT

A very special post this Sunday, as Nina is one of my top five inspirations! Nina Lindberg Nesbitt (born 11 July 1994) is a Scottish singer- songwriter and guitarist from Edinburgh. I saw her for the first time at the music video of Ed's Sheeran "Drunk" and I didn't knew that she is a singer. So, I searched who this beautiful girl is and found out how talented she is! I soon became a nesbian and I some of her songs are like stories of my life, fact that made me love her more. She can play the : guitar, piano, keyboards, flute, tambourine and she's always learning new intruments. Also, I adore her style and beauty, cause she's pure and simple.

#FunFacts about me as a nesbian:

  • They first Nina-song I listened to was "Way in the world" and some months later, it was the background music in a greek ad.
  • I'm shipping her with Ed Sheeran and I was so sad when they broke up
  • I downloaded her debute album "Peroxide" and I've been listening to it more that 5 times a day for many weeks!
  • My favorite Nina-song is "Selfies"
  • I can play "Peroxide" on my guitar and sing the most of her songs

She inspires me in many ways. I have her as my idol, I wanna be as good at music as her. I love her hair-style and color. As I already said, she has an incredible sense of style and dresses amazingly. Her voice is so unique and reminds me of vintage personalities. Her attitude, maturity and character are not easily seen nowadays in people and, to my mind, they are the most important if you wanna be considered succesful. She has achieved great things, despite the young of her age. If you haven't already check her songs, you should probably do it now and I promise that you'll love her!
