PEOPLE WHO MADE MY 2015 #part 3: YOUTUBERS

Ahoy my friends! This is my favorite post to edit because it's about the people who bring joy to my life, they inspire me and teach me great life lessons that I would never learn in this chaotic world.

Words are not enough to descibe this cinnamon roll! Phil is the kindest person to ever walk on this planet and I feel very lucky that I am born at the same time as he is born. This year has been one of the greatests of his life, with his first book out, a sold out tour, being given cameos for Disney's Big Hero 6, traveling to Japan, reaching 3 million subscribers, and many other cool stuff! He is truly hardworking, always original, with amazing ideas for his youtube videos. Every time I feel a bit down, I go to his channel and it's guaranteed that he will make me smile. When I feel sad or not motivated, I think that he would want me to smile and be happy, that he would do anything to cheer me up, if he was here. He cares about everyone and is always gentle.

Shane is one of the most successful people on youtube and it was this year that I got addicted to his videos, especially on his second channel, where he uploads daily. 2015 may have been a little hard for him, but I am sure he is working on something big for 2016 (probs a movie). He has given me so much strength and makes me feel good about myself. He is one of the greatest comedians on youtube and his videos are clever and funny.

I discovered him when Zoella tweeted one of his videos, called 'On Being Problematic', and I instantly got obsessed! He is one of the smartest people I know, his makes great content with quality, and he is the kind of puns! He has a full-time job other than youtube and this is something I admire a lot. He has been traveling with his friends tduring 2015 and uploading vlogs on his travel channel. Also, I have quite a few things in common with him and I aspire to be like him one day (although I won't).

PEOPLE WHO MADE MY 2015 #part 2: FRIENDS

Hello everyone and Happy Christmas Eve! I hope you have all gotten to the festive mood and you are excited for Christmas and Winter Break! If you're not, my advice is to put some Christmas music, make some hot tea or chocolate and turn some fairy-lights on. As I did last year, I want this post to be dedicated to all my lovely friends that kept me company during this year, one of the best years of my life.

    Dear friends,
We have been through a lot this year, let's be honest. I think that, more than any other time, this year has been an emotional roller coaster. I may have been a mess, or extremely happy, or just a boring potato sometimes, but you always showed me that you do want to be friends with me and I appreciate that. I've done my best to keep in touch with you, both the online ones and irl, and I want to apologize if I have failed that. I also wanna say sorry if I have ever let you down or made you sad and upset. You have been so great, even better than I could ever ask for, and I feel blessed to have you all in my life. You know that every single one of you has a different impact in my life and you mean something big. We have created memories that I am never going to forget and they have all made me change myself in a good way. This year, I've been actually happy, and I owe so much to you. I've seen you achieving things, ticking others from your bucket list, being real, telling me that you can be yourselves around me. That is precious for me and I want to that you very much.

Also, during this year, I have spend so much time online, and to be more specific, on tumblr and youtube. Because of those platforms, I had and still have the opportunity to talk to some amazing people that I share the same interests with. We may have not even talked at all, but we always reblog stuff from each other or comment on the youtube's comments' section, but I am so glad to connect with people from all around the world and fangirl over our idols.

PEOPLE WHO MADE MY 2015 part1 : #MUSICIANS

Hello everybody! The first part of the series "People who made my 2015" is here and, of course, it's about my favorite musicians, the ones I discovered this year and those who released new stuff. If you want to see last year's post, click here.

FALL OUT BOY
  • It all started because of my obsession with Phil Lester actually. It is known that Dan and Phil, through BBC Radio 1, have been interviewing and interacting with them. So I found a Christmas video made by Phil for Radio 1 and the music playing on the background was "What's This", a song by the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, written and played by Fall Out Boy.
  • Then, straightaway, I downloaded their latest album 'American Beauty/ American Psycho' and listened to it on replay during the whole summer. Later in August, my best friend got me another album by them, called 'Save Rock And Roll' and my obsession got bigger and bigger as the days went by.
  • I adore this band for so many reasons. First of all, all the members are incredible musicians! I may be a little more obsessed with Patrick Stump, but how could I not!? For me, he is the greatest singer of our generation, his vocal skills are next level, his voice has a wide range, hitting really high notes and really low too! The power he gives to the songs is amazing and you can tell he is even better at live shows. The music they are playing is unique and by listening to a few chords, you can recognise it's them. Their lyrics are so meaningful and their passion about music gives a different atmosphere to their music.
  • My favorite FOB song is 'My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark'.
twenty one pilots
  • A band that I first listened to back in 2012. I think they were on MTV Push at some point and 'Holding On To You' was playing everywhere. It was this year, after the MTV VMAs that I started searching more about them. The performed 'Lane Boy' and 'HeavyDirtySoul' with ASAP Rocky and I said that I was definitely going to become obsessed with them.
  • Tyler and Josh are some of the most incredible musicians I've ever seen! Their genre is different from any other, they combine rock with rap, which makes something amazing and unique. The energy at their concerts is the best I've seen in a stadium, and I wish that I will feel it one day live, and not through youtube videos. Their lyrics are sad, beautiful, inspiring, heartbreaking, meaningful and relatable, whether all at the same time or not. Not only are they great artists, but also great human beings and their friendship is something I admire.
  • My favorite song is 'Car Radio' from the album 'Vessel' and it's in my top 5 with my favorite songs of all times. It means a lot to me and the lyrics speak to me more than any other song's. I highly recommend that you check it performed live by them by clicking here. I promise you won't regret it. No matter how you feel about life or how your mood is, they have a song for everything.
TROYE SIVAN
  • Personally, I believe that 2015 has been Troye's year. He released an amazing EP called 'Wild' in September, after a year of releasing 'TRXYE' and everyone was craving for some new songs by him. As this wasn't enough, he announced that he is going to release more songs before 2016 comes, and so he did! He released his first full-length album, called 'Blue Neighbourhood' and started touring in Australia, Europe and USA. He had his first tv appearance this month in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he played one of hit hits 'Youth'. More people discovered him and liked his music, something that makes me extremely proud and happy.
  • He started by starring in movies, joining talent shows from a young age, making a youtube channel and had fans everywhere around the world. His big dream has always been to be a singer and perform live. I feel like a proud mother who sees her child growing up and achieving his dreams. This is only the start and he is an artist who has to offer so many things to this world, through his music and character.
  • My favorite song is 'Too Good', although everyone who is a fan of him would agree that it is too hard to choose one favorite song because they are all so great! His voice is low and pure and, combined with the electro music, creates something magic and wonderful, that you enjoy to experience. 'Blue Neighbourhood' has characterized my 2015 more than any other thing.

ARE MY POSTS COMING BACK!?

Hello (it's me!). This is an update post about the (near) future of this blog. Last year, I made a series called "People who made my 2014" and, as 2015 is coming to an end soon, I decided to do it again, because it's been an incredible year for me and I want to thank everyone who contributed to that. My blog has never been popular and the posts have been read by my close friends, and that's the reason why I stopped posting. But this series is really important for me and I want to write it for myself. If you read it and like it to, then it'd make me super happy!

SCHOOL TIME!

Hello everyone! For most students, back-to-school period has already come, but for me starts this Friday. Whether we like it or not (most likely we don't), we have to attend classes, get graded and sit exams. The main thing we should all focus on is to not freak out over everything.
I am in the 2nd year in high school, which means that next year will be my last as a student (and to be quite honest, I can't wait). Also, for more people at my age, it's the period we feel pressured to figure out what we want to do in the future, so questions like "in which uni should I go?" and "what job is suitable for me?" are always in our minds. I am not an expert on how not to get even an existensial crisis because of this overwhelming situation. What I try to do is to take care of myself and put my physical and mental health as a priority. Remember that nothing matters more than having a healthy organism to keep you going. To achieve that, you should not lose sleep to study and have a balanced diet/not skip meals. Even when you have after-school-lessons, you should have regular snacks and the most important, drink a lot of water.
The greek educational system is not well-organized and it doesn't give opportunities to all students. For example, we don't have art lessons, we don't learn languages other than greek and english, P.E. is a free hour and sex ed does not exist. Also, here are not fun activities we can enter nor clubs (except for the physics club which has like 4 students). So, how do they expect us to enjoy school when all we do is study for 9 months straight?

For those who are going to high school for the first time this year, I have some things to tell you.

  • If you're scared, don't worry. Everyone is as scared as you are and no one is better than you.
  • It's nothing like the movies. Nothing exciting happens and it's the truth. Do not expect big changes.
  • You will find people who will be your best friends, even if you don't believe it. Last year I found some of the greatest friends I've ever had in my whole life.
  • Having crushes is stupid and pointless. You may disagree and I can respect that, but all they do to you is destructing you from the real fun and wasting your time. Having friends is more important than sticking on a human and claim to have a crush on them.
  • Teachers may seem strict but you should have in mind that they are people too and they have a life outside the school. Don't start fights with them and try to understand.
  • There will be immature people. Don't even give a fuck about them. Their insults and bad comments mean nothing about you.
What I always try to remember that high school may seems the end of the world but it's definitely not. It will end and we may even miss it sometimes. Make memories, go out with friends, join school trips, meet new people and visit new places. Deep inside, we all know which our dreams are and where we are aiming with our lives. Concentrate to stuff that you enjoy and make the most out of every situation. Most important, be a kind human. That's what's missing from this world and we need it. Plus, you don't need many people around you, just 3-4 close friends. Lastly, never change yourself to fit in. Neither you nor other people will gain something from this. There are teens who are like you and you share the same interests. Don't try to impress others by someone you're not. Stay true and people who like you for who you are, will come for you.
If you want more practical advice about school, check my last year's post. Also, tell me in the comments box, where do you live and how is the edicational system like? Which year are you in and how does it make you feel? Which is your best advice on school? I wish you to have an incredible school year!

UPDATE

Hello everybody! Sorry for not posting last week's obsessions, but I didn't feel like it. I recently decided that I do not write these posts with much joy, so I will take a break from the blog. I started this blog as a way to share opinions and it didn't work out as I wanted it to. These months I even found myself unable to write posts like the pointless ones, because of frustration. Also, school is coming and I may prepare a Back To School posts with tips and hacks, but till then, I won't post anything on here.

You can find me on Facebook by clicking here.
